Love at Sea
Love at Sea
'Love at Sea' - Art by Lois Brady
A Valentine’s sea painting, encouraging that first sea dip and described by the artist in her poem:
‘Come to the ocean, I’ll show you what it’s like to be free
Yes, I know you are only doing this for me… but you’ll see
The wave touches your toe, the first yelp let’s rip
Ahh the sweet sound of the very first dip
It swirls at the knees every other word is f
I can’t help but laugh as you catch your breath
The waves are getting higher oh oh oh there it is
It hits the balls you go into a tizz
You think I must be mad as your shoulders go under
But deep breaths, relax, soon a sense of wonder
Here she is the sea with her open door
Suddenly you are asking for a few minutes more
Looking at me, everything falls into place
Now getting why this is my happy space
You tell me you love me I know that it’s true
You have sacrificed pink sink for what is now blue.'
