Strangford Lough
Strangford Lough
'Strangford Lough' by Snazzeroo
Strangford Lough is the largest sea inlet in the British Isles, covering 58 square miles and is almost totally enclosed by the Ards Peninsula. The Lough, relatively shallow and the northern end, is linked to the Irish Sea by a long narrow channel at its south-eastern edge, meaning that when the tide is out, most of the northern part of the Lough is drained of water, grounding all boats until the tide comes back in again. This contemporary illustration of a grounded boat is a common sight for the locals.
Measures 30cm wide x 40cm high. Materials: digital, print, pearl 250gsm board.
Darren from Snazzeroo says: "My challenge is to distil the elements of the location in shape and colour while retaining the essence of the place."
